Made this for dinner in order to avoid turning on the oven in the heat. I made it per the recipe, except I used toasted sesame oil in place of the vegetable oil. It was a good amount for my husband and me. Yummy!

needs more soy less sugar, used linguini. very good

this dish turned out tasty. The corn starch glaze wasn't the most attractive thing and I will cut the sugar to at least half next time as it was way sweet. It was definitely tasty enough to give another try though!

I simplified this to make for my 3-year-old. He liked it a lot.

This had a very bad flavor. I think it was the housin sauce in the lo mein. It tasted like black licorice.

i used mushrooms-onions-broccoli and snow peas also. very simple and easy dish--YUMMY !!!

Very good recipe with ONE exception. It tasted too sweet for me (but good), so I would suggest about HALF the sugar it says to use.

Very good, quick and easy. I agree with cutting the sugar, and I used Teriyaki in place of the Housin sauce. I added a stir fry vege mix... perfect!

I cut down the sugar to 1 tbsp and it was still too sweet, but SO tasty! I drizzled some sriracha on it as well and threw in a bag of stir fry veggie mix. I will definitely make this again (with probably 1 tsp of sugar) and it would also taste great with steamed rice instead of noodles.

Made with pre-cooked pork loin. Excellent

The sauce is spot on for takeout shrimp Lo Mein! I used vegetable broth since I don't eat chicken, and I added some frozen "stir fry" veggies with the shrimp to make it more like the takeout place's recipe I was craving- It is a perfect takeout substitute.

This recipe is fantastic! Everyone in my house absolutely loved it. We loved it so much I am making it 2 weeks in a row, which never happens in our household.

It was great! I used angel hair pasta and cut back a little on the sugar as suggested by others. A definite keeper and it's been a long time since I've found one on this site.

I used about a Tbs of honey instead of the sugar and added sautéed vegetables. I used whole grain spaghetti. It was very good. My husband liked it. Will make it again.

I sautéed an onion instead of using green onions, used Splenda accidentally in place of the sugar, and added snow peas. We liked it, sauce was a little sweet , maybe because of the Splenda, so will probrably cut back a bit.

I made it and my husband loved it. Will definitely make it again and next time throw in some fresh veggies.

Tried this recipe and added French cut green beans and 3 cut up chicken tenders. Tastes great just like my favorite take out. Just one serving was very filling. I will do this again.

Delicious!! I added some more veggies, too. :)

I will never order Shrimp Lo Mein out again, this recipe was even better than take-out! I used celery, carrots, and water chestnuts! Fantastic!!!
04/27/2016
It was very easy to make. I added too much sauce and it was a little soupy. Next time I will add to taste.

I made this recipe as is. My kids love lo mein and they did not like this at all. It was way too sweet; the sugar was unnecessary. It could have benefited from some sesame oil.
12/29/2017
So yummy! Added broccoli, snow peas and shitakes. Also some sesame oil.

I made this for my family. Since I was not able to get hoisin sauce, I used teriyaki sauce and added a few flakes of crushed red pepper. We all loved it, no leftover.
05/15/2014
Excellent, easy, affordable!

This was great! Increased to 6 servings except hoisin, only used 2 Tbls, added broccoli, carrots and celery and used low mein noodles instead of spaghetti. I also added a dash of ginger and sesame oil and used 2 Tbls of honey instead of sugar. 3 of us ate the whole thing :)

Very good, a little to sweet, I also added carrot bok choy, and baby corn.

I thought this was delicious and very easy. I had all the ingredients and followed the recipe but with one exception. I added about a tablespoon of Sriracha sauce. The sweet and the hot was perfect. Oh btw I used lo mein noodles, quick cooking and delicious.

Delicious. I cut down the sugar and did not add cornstarch. I added about a tablespoon of the sauce to the cooking meat to add flavor. Then i added chopped broccoli, carrots, and some snap peas.

This is a tasty little dish that has a nice, clean flavor. I would probably use a little less sugar the next time but it was still very good. Everyone enjoyed it.
03/13/2020
I used lo mein noodles!!

This is one of the most delicious recipes I've found on this site. Easy and so tasty. I added snap peas, julienned carrots and a few red chili peppers (not hot) to fill out the recipes for a bunch of hungry people. Just outstanding. Even leftover! Of course I add Sriracha to my own serving.

Perfect quick fix for those times you crave take-out! I had some Soba noodles on hand and used those in place of the pasta. The sauce was delicious and we prefer it extra saucy so I doubled the amounts. My family enjoyed this and I would make it again. May try it with lobster.... yum!
04/12/2016
Easy, fast and delicious... I'll make this often. Really fun
05/16/2020
I will definitely make again. I wanted to add pea pods or even sugar snap peas, but couldn't find either. It was still delicious without them! It's a easy, simple dish to make. Enjoy!
09/03/2012
I used less noodles and added steamed broccoli and carrots.
02/13/2017
I made this twice in one week when I told my grand daughter I made this on a Tuesday she came over on Saturday so she could make it with me, both times it came out great, the only thing I changed was I did not use as much oil as the recipe called for because I used my copper pan and I skipped the cornstarch it was perfect

I'm a fan! Full disclosure: we're eating vegetarian, so I swapped the shrimp for veg, but that just shows how versatile this is. I followed the rest of the recipe, but I used an assortment of mushrooms, some stir fry veg, and bean spouts in place of shrimp. I was a touch wary of the amount of garlic (and I'm that person that laughs and laughs and laughs when a recipe calls for only one clove), but it's strangely barely discernible. This would be a superb recipe to keep in the back of your head to use any leftover protein/veg and that half empty box of pasta in your pantry.
